Criminal Immigration Matters

If an individual has ever been arrested or convicted of a crime in or outside of the U.S., he or she may be at risk of deportation, not eligible for a visa, or not eligible for status in the U.S. However, there may be a waiver available.

A lawful permanent resident (LPR) who has certain criminal convictions may not be able to obtain U.S. citizenship because of these convictions. The individual may be placed in deportation after travelling outside of the U.S. or when applying for U.S. citizenship.

How criminal convictions and arrests are considered by immigration changes frequently. Seek legal advice immediately if you have a criminal conviction or arrest.
